Trying out the HD video recording capability of my new Sony T90 digital camera (Cybershot). The camera is an ultra compact alternative to compact camcorders such as the Flip Mino, Panasonic SDR-S26 (with ultra zoom), Sony Webbie, and the like. So far I found that although the video is HD it is not full high definition but still better than standard definition. The T90 shoots video at 1280X720 pixels at 30 fps versus full HD 1920X1080 pixels. My early experience with the T90 is that the battery doesn’t last too long – at least not nearly as long as my full blown camcorder, the Sony DCR-SR200 Handycam which has a huge battery. Early indications is that the optical stabilization is good but then the zoom is only 5X. Other pros include a Carl Zeiss lens. touchscreen, and MP4 recording format. This was supposed to be one video but it turns out I talk a lot. This video is for anyone with a compact digital camera who wonders why they are not getting the photos they want to take, and also for those considering the move to a DSLR or bridge camera who are not yet convinced. This first part deals with focal lengths and interchangeable lenses. Link for the kerrrr-azy 1200mm prime L-series Canon lens: en.wikipedia.org
