I’m looking for a digital camera, that is compact and less than 0 what camera/brand can i get the best pictures?

I’m looking to replace my two year old casio exilim s600.
I need a compact (pocket slim) digital camera that takes sd cards. It must have image stabilization, low light shooting options, and a decent video setting. I’m looking for 7mp and up and around the 0 mark. Brands: Nikon, Canon, Olympus….but open to other ones with a good reputation for being reliable and sturdy
Any suggestions?

My husband and I are new parents and the camera we have now (sony) doesn’t have a very clear picture, it is quite grainy. We want a camera that will take pictures with the clearest image, but not too expensive. We also like the camera to be a compact digital camera. We need suggesstions, and the #1 things we are looking for is CLEAR IMAGERY!

Oh, and also it would be great if it took decent video for concerts, etc.

Best place online or high street, pricewise, to buy a compact digital camera. (The Fuji J30 looks nice)

I bought my wife a nice Nikon digital camera two years ago. It’s a great camera, but it has one flaw she doesn’t like…..it takes much too long for the picture to "capture/take/flash" once she depresses the button to "take" the picture.

By the time she selects her shot and tries to capture it, the person has already moved in many cases.

I’d like to buy her a "fast" camera but I don’t know what I should be looking for.

Can someone advise me on what I need to look for in a "quick" responding digital camera?

This morning I saw a Kodak camera that has a "Shutter Speed of 4 – 1/1400s"…..whatever that means????

Is this Kodak a "fast" camera?

Thanks to all that respond.
BTW, that Kodak was a C653 that I gave the shutter speed for.
Is the last responder trying to lead me astray?

i’m not looking for a professional camera, just a compact point and shoot with good flash photos. please don’t say canon because i’ve used the sd730, sd900 and sd100 and the flash pictures are really bad. maybe i’m getting the settings wrong. i’d like a camera that makes pictures come out as they actually look or even with a rosy, glowing feel. anyone have any suggestions? thanks.
